of relatives who came to America Gottlieb Steinke immigrated to America about 1880. He worked in Milwaukee as a street car conductor, and then moved to Iowa to farm. Three of Gottlieb’s brothers immigrated also, with their mother. Chris, Fred, & Albert all came to America
between 1875 and the early 1880’s.
Rosalie Kietzmann immigrated to America with her parents Johann Wilhelm & M.Henriette (Kunke)Kietzmann in about 1881, eventually settling in Janestown, which was a small coal mining town north of What Cheer, Iowa.
